“Of course your can draw, you were just never taught!” That’s how KidsArt Redondo Beach owner Anjale Perrault responded when I told her that I can’t draw. Well maybe it’s just me, but I always assumed that being able to draw or paint was a talent that you either had or you didn’t. The idea that I may be able to learn draw intrigued and excited me. Anjale assured me that the program at KidsArt studios is designed so that anyone and everyone with the desire to create art is able to do so with skill.

At KidsArt, students from age 4 to adult learn how to draw and paint  by teachers who are trained to help you and/or your child become a confident and accomplished artist. Students are exposed to a wide variety of media in the drawing classes including graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, pastels, colored pencils, and more. Once they are proficient in their drawing skills, students progress into the various painting media, including watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Students receive extensive hands-on instruction in the use of each medium, including color-mixing, painting techniques, and the proper use and care of materials. Anjale recently opened a KidsArt ceramics studio next door to the drawing and painting studio where students can learn hand building  and wheel throwing ceramics.

KidsArt classes are held 7 days a week and the studio is available for birthday parties and events on Sunday afternoons. Summer camps are held in the summer!
